The Movers Co: Now Hiring


The Movers Co. is looking for a responsible, physically fit individual to safely move residential/commercial goods by loading into and out of moving trucks. The Mover/Helper is responsible for ensuring all items are undamaged and placed correctly in position at the new location. Also including any related tasks and/or duties assigned to them.


To be successful as a Mover/Helper you must have stamina, techniques deemed safe, and strength to perform all manual duties assigned on the job site.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to plan and execute the safest and most efficient way to pack items into and out of moving trucks.

  • Load and unload vehicles by hand or proper equipment safely.

  • Wrap furniture with blankets to prevent damage.

  • Wrap dishes and fragile items in packing paper and properly pack items into containers/boxes.

  • Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transport.

  • Delivers and stacks goods on customer’s premises.

  • Assists in cleaning trucks, tools, and equipment.

  • Must know, use, and follow all DMS safety regulations.

  • Must have knowledge of furniture and equipment handling industry-accepted procedures.

  • Must know and use generally accepted industry practices for vehicle housekeeping.

  • Must wear uniforms, practice proper hygiene acceptable to The Movers Co.

  • Complete any tasks or duties assigned to them.


Requirements:

  • Punctual and professional

  • A high school qualification or equivalent would be preferable

  • A valid driver’s license

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
